Where's My Seat?
Tired of waiting until you get to the airport to find out whether your seat is on an exit row or right next
to the bathroom?
With the partnership of two travel-based companies, constant fliers can now know within minutes how comfortable, or uncomfortable, their flights will be.
As part of a recent deal between Frequent Flyer Services and TripIt, the latter’s members will now have
access to detailed maps of airline seats provided by SeatExpert, a subsidiary of Frequent Flyer Services.
Links to SeatExpert’s seat maps are integrated directly into each TripIt member’s customized itinerary.
Each SeatExpert map shows the plane’s best and worst seats, and includes comments about the seats,
along with notes about the plane’s overall configuration.
The partnership allows TripIt members to quickly choose the best seats on their scheduled aircraft.
The new relationship between Frequent Flyer Services, an online-publishing company serving frequent
travelers, and TripIt, an online travel-itinerary and trip-planning service, makes sense, they say.
“TripIt is a rising star in the online travel community, in fact, it has become one of the sites I can’t travel without,” says Frequent Flyer Services President Randy Petersen.
TripIt is a great addition to the
traveler-based services and Web sites currently offered by Frequent Flyer, which is the largest publisher
On Tripit, travelers forward their travel confirmation e-mails to plans@tripit.com. TripIt automatically
creates a master itinerary that combines all their travel plans, plus maps and weather and restaurant information.
