Victoria Cruises Responds To Increased Demand For River Cruises on China's Yangtze, Schedules Additional Departures

Adds 14 Additional March 2011 Departures For Popular 'Three Gorges Highlights' Itinerary

In response to higher than anticipated demand for its popular Three Gorges Highlights program on China's Yangtze River, Victoria Cruises ( has added 14 new departure dates in March 2011 on the Victoria Jenna, Victoria Anna and Victoria Katarina.

Newly scheduled 2011 sailings on the Victoria Jenna depart on March 6, 9, 13 and 16. For the Victoria Anna, the cruise line has added March 1, 4, 8, 11, 15 and 18. Victoria Cruises has also added departures for March 3, 6, 10 and 13 on the Victoria Katarina.

In addition to spectacular views of centuries-old pagodas nestled along the Yangtze and a scenic experience sailing through the massive Three Gorges – known as one of China’s most visually stunning natural treasures – a one-time shore excursion fee of $90 per person (inclusive of all standard excursions) will provide guests with:

  • An excursion to the Three Gorges Dam Site, an extraordinary feat of engineering and a major highlight of the cruise.
  • A tour of the “Ghost City” of Fengdu, complete with statures of spirits and demons.
  • An incredible sailing experience through the Small Gorges of the Daning River, one of the Yangtze’s tributaries. This scenic journey on one ofthe Yangtze's tributaries transports  you to a floating dock near Dachang, where you disembark to board a traditional sampan for a tranquil ride through the “Mini Gorges” of the Ma Du River.

During the cruise you can also participate in various activities such as Tai Chi lessons, acupuncture/acupressure demonstrations and discussions on the Yangtze’s history. Nightly entertainment options include traditional Chinese dance and musical performances .
