Viking River Cruises Introduces New 11-Day Danube River Cruise Through Eastern Europe
Viking River Cruises, the world’s leading river cruise line, recently introduced a brand-new itinerary along the Danube River in Eastern Europe. The Passage to Eastern Europe itinerary features an 8-day cruise along the scenic Danube River with stops in five different Eastern European countries—Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania—plus 2 nights in Budapest and 1 night in Bucharest.
During the 11-day cruise guests have the opportunity to visit three major Eastern European capitals—Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia) and Bucharest (Romania)—in addition to visits to quaint villages and riverside towns. Highlights during the itinerary are sailing amidst the natural wonders of the Danube River’s Iron Gate region, touring the rocks of Belgradchik, seeing the Roman ruins at Viminacium and experiencing the region’s vibrant culture, as experienced in a Puszta horsemanship performance. To further enhance the trip, a variety of lectures including two on the Balkan conflict from the standpoint of two Serbian and Croatian lecturers, have been added as a part of Viking’s signature Culture CurriculumSM program.
