Celebrity Adds New Mediterranean Cruises to 2010 Lineup
The allure of Europe combined with a cruise makes a potent combination, and in response to requests from past guests, Celebrity Cruises will deploy the Celebrity Century to the Mediterranean next summer.
As a prelude to its European season, the ship will depart Miami May 20, 2010, on a 14-night trans-Atlantic voyage visiting Ponta Delgada, Azores; Lisbon, Portugal; and Seville and Malaga, Spain, before ending in Barcelona. There, on June 3, Celebrity Century will begin a series of 12-night, round-trip Mediterranean cruises, with a host of enticing ports of call that vary depending on departure date.
Among the provocative ports of call on this new Mediterranean itinerary are Cannes and Monte Carlo on the French Riviera, along with Nice, Provence, and the seaside communities of Sicily and Salerno on Italy’s Amalfi Coast, as well as historic Florence/Pisa, Rome and romantic Venice. There are also calls at Ephesus, Turkey, with its ancient ruins and at Athens and festive Mykonos in Greece, plus visits to the enchanting Croatian cities of Dubrovnik and Split on the Adriatic coast.
Celebrity Century’s 2010 Europe season will conclude with a 14-night trans-Atlantic voyage departing Barcelona Oct. 25, with calls at Malaga, Spain; Madeira, Portugal; and Tenerife and La Palma, Canary Islands, ending Nov. 8, 2010, in Miami, where the ship will resume its four- and five-night Celebrity Caribbean getaways.
