The Ultimate Splurge: Chocolate High Tea at South Africa's Table Bay
Chocoholics, sweet tooths and other guests staying at the luxurious Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, are invited to partake of its new Chocolate High Tea that combines the traditional afternoon tea with a lavish selection of chocolate cakes, pastries and desserts.
The Tea is served in the Lounge at The Table Bay, which offers unparalleled views of Table Mountain and Cape Town’s bustling harbor. The assortment of sumptuous treats includes chocolate madeleines with candied lime zest, rum-chocolate truffles, Black Forest trifles and chocolate meringues filled with banana frangipani and cinnamon mousse.
Camelot Spa, adjacent to the rooftop swimming pool, now offers a 75-minute Chocolate Delight treatment. The skin-conditioning beauty treatment blends the antioxidizing properties of pure cocoa powder with the exfoliating quality of natural sugar. Services include vanilla-scented deep massage, various body scrubs and the decadent self-heating cocoa mask. Guests are then escorted to the lounge to enjoy a glass of pure hot cocoa. This spa special runs through August 31.
High Tea at The Table Bay is served daily between 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. and costs 160 rand (approximately $20). If customers care to complement dessert with an irresistible glass of French Champagne, the price is 240 rand (approximately $30.) The Chocolate Spa package is priced at 510 rand (approximately $66.) Reservations can be made through the Sun International Web site at www.suninternational.com.
