Upscale Resort, Conference Center Joins Parade Of New Offerings In Key West, Florida

The Beachside Resort & Conference Center has opened in Key West, Florida with a combination of up-scale resort and business conference amenities.

With catering and restaurants overseen by Norman Van Aken, the James Beard Award winning chef, the resort features cuisine that is synonymous with Key West.

Van Aken is nationally known for his ability to blend Key West cuisine with international flavors to create a unique dining experience.

He has created two outstanding restaurants at Beachside, Tavern and Town.

Combining the ultimate in 24 hour concierge service with elegant upscale accommodations, Beachside is comprised of 222 rooms; including 129 one, two and three-bedroom suites and 93 king bedrooms. To set the highest standard possible, each guest room provides marble flooring throughout, oversized balconies with waterfront views, open gourmet kitchens with granite counter tops and stainless built-in appliances, full capacity washer and dryer, high-speed Internet access, sub-zero refrigerator freezer and tinted hurricane glass on all doors and windows. Other plush touches include marble Jacuzzi tubs, Frette linens, fine china kitchenware, amenities by L’Occitane and LCD flat screen televisions. Most third floor suites have a private sundeck above their balconies and first floor accommodations provide a circular staircase down to the gardens.

The versatile Beachside Ballroom is 6,000 square feet, can seat up to 400 and has its own kitchen. Perhaps most notably, the Lobby & Conference Center is constructed with an emergency power generator and can withstand up to 205 mile per hour winds (a typical category five hurricane has winds approximating 155 mph).

Poolside, guests have the option to relax under private cabanas and treat themselves to tropical drinks and casual cuisine at “Blue Bar.” Blue Bar” providing style and stunning views and “Tavern-N-Town,” serve as dining experiences that will surely become quintessential Key West. Known as the “founding father of New World Cuisine,” chef Norman Van Aken will offer tapas-style selections in “Tavern” and superb fine dining in “Town.” The elegant spaces share an open “Theater Kitchen” and both have private dining rooms. At the heart of “Tavern” is a mahogany bar that Hemingway would have been proud to frequent.

Beachside Resort & Conference Center was designed by award-winning architect Thomas E. Pope.

Among the resort's features are 222 luxuriously appointed rooms; including 93 king bedroom accommodations and 129 one, two and three-bedroom residences.

Completing the exclusive experience, guests have access to a private beach on the Gulf of Mexico, waterfront pool with private cabanas and fitness center. A private 20-slip marina, 6,000 square-foot events facility and multiple dining options offered by award winning chef Norman Van Aken, complete a resort that is second to none. Beaches, shopping, dining and nightlife are all located just a short drive to lively downtown Key West. For more information visit www.beachsidekeywest.com
