The Meridian Club, Pine Cay in Turks & Caicos reopens in November

Even though, hurricanes Hanna and Ika caused minimal damage to The Meridian Club, Pine Cay in Turks & Caicos, the private 800-acre island vacation retreat will reopen its doors for business on November 1st.

Due to the damage, the island was in need of ongoing clean-up and replaced landscaping.

South Caicos and Grand Turk suffered considerably, so much so they are declared "disaster areas" receiving support from the British Navy and British Red Cross. However, Salt Cay, due to its' limited population, has not received significant assistance and those affected are in dire need.

The Meridian Club and the Pine Cay Homeowners Association stepped up to help their neighbors on Salt Cay purchasing and donating several generators and a large quantity of building supplies and generators from Miami. The Pine Cay Project, an independent charitable organization, is also ready to help educators and others in the TCI as they educate and assist children and adults whose lives have been disrupted by recent hurricanes. Grants are intended to replace books and learning materials damaged in the storms, and to brighten the lives of children and others who have suffered serious personal losses in their homes and elsewhere.

Trustees of Pine Cay Project include several members of the Pine Cay Homeowners Association. The Project is a qualified nonprofit organization under the tax laws of the United States (federal ID #341703337). Donations are tax deductible in the U.S. and will be promptly acknowledged in writing. They may be mailed to: Pine Cay Project, 2201 Merit Avenue, Lima, OH 45805, USA.

Rates at The Meridian Club start at $765 and include breakfast, lunch and dinner, and are slightly higher for the Sand Dollar Cottage due to the privacy and additional space. Taxes and gratuity not included.
